Today is a big day for West Virginians when we pay our final respects to one of the last remaining statesman that served in Congress. On the way the work this morning the security is as tight as I have seen it for any presidential visit to date. We have the top three in power attending Senator Byrd's funeral which makes sense for the heightened security. Our office will be watching with respect and reverence at 11:30am this morning to pay our last respects.
Because of his service to his state and country I am truly humbled to be a West Virginian and a United States citizen. Thank you Senator Byrd for everything you have done for the great state of West Virginia. Our prayers go out to the family and friends of Senator Robert C. Byrd and may he rest in peace.
